Biography
Alesha was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and attended Michigan State University where she received her B.A. in Business Administration-Pre Law. Alesha went on to attend Law School at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was an active member in the Environmental Law Program, Animal Rights Law Society, and Public Interest Law Society.
Shortly after graduation, Alesha moved to Tennessee and became licensed to practice law in Tennessee in November of 2009. Alesha entered private practice, focusing on Family Law, Criminal Law and Juvenile Law in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In the fall of 2013, Alesha and her family decided to move back to Michigan and Alesha received her license to practice law in Michigan shortly after returning. Alesha has focused on Family Law since returning to Michigan, including divorces, custody, child support, guardianships, abuse and neglect, and adoptions. Alesha grew up in a blended family with parents, step-parents, siblings, half-sibling, and step-siblings. Coming from a blended family, Alesha understands the impact that family law matters have on the entire family, especially children caught in the mix. Alesha's personal and professional experience allow her to consider alternate views in order to offer her clients a wider perspective when making these impactful decisions.
Her commitment to the success of families extends beyond the office, and Alesha knows that children need support and guidance to thrive. This is why since 2018 she has served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club and has been the Chair of that Board since 2023. Alesha joined Herbert Machnik Law firm in January 2020, where she continues to help families navigate their legal challenges.
Alesha and her husband Curtis have one son, Elliot. In her spare time, Alesha enjoys spending time with her family, as well as running, knitting and camping.
